Organized by the Sino-German Legal Cooperation programme, a delegation consisting of five judges of the Supreme People’s Court visited Germany and France from May 22nd-29th 2016. All the members of the delegation are involved in the current overhaul of the general part of the Chinese civil law and therefore wanted to inform themselves about recent developments in the law of guardianship, Intellectual Property law and the doctrine on legal transactions. The delegation visited the Ludwig-Maximilian-University in Munich and the Federal Court of Justice in Karlsruhe, as well as the French Ministry of Justice and the Cour de Cassation in Paris and met with scholars, judges and civil servants for detailed expert discussions.
