Online Training Course on judicial Methodology in Civil Law

From the 20th until the 24th of June 2022, the Sino-German Legal Cooperation Programme conducted an online training course on judicial methodology in civil law for the National Judges College. 42 high-qualified young judges from all over the country, designated for a master programme at the City University of Hongkong and at the University of Macau, participated and were introduced to the German methodology on the application of law. Dr Marco Haase, Programme Director of the Sino-German Legal Cooperation Programme, and Ms Wang Xiaofang, Vicepresident of the National Judges College, welcomed the participants to the course. Under the guidance of Mr. Norbert Feige, legal advisor for the Sino-German Legal Cooperation Programme, the participants practiced the application of the techniques on practical cases under Chinese civil law. Due to the Corona pandemic, the training was implemented by an online video conference.

In cooperation with the National Judges College, the Sino-German Legal Cooperation Programme organizes several courses on judicial methodology a year. The aim of these courses is to promote a consistent and clear application of the law by the judiciary, thereby improving both the efficiency of Chinese courts and legal certainty for citizens.
