From 8 to 19 July 2019, the Sino-German Institute for Legal Studies of the China University for Political Science and Law (CUPL) in Peking, in collaboration with the Sino-German Legal Cooperation Programme, held a Summer School on German techniques for the application of law. Over four half days, Prof. Sebastian Lohsse (University of Münster), Prof. Jens Puschke (University of Marburg), Dr Eike Frenzel (University of Freiburg) and Dr Marco Haase (Sino-German Legal Cooperation Programme) gave an introduction to German law and its methods for solving cases in the areas of civil law, criminal law, and administrative law. The Summer School was aimed at advanced bachelor’s students throughout China and was intended to make a new generation of jurists familiar at an early stage with methodical and systematic case-solving techniques.
