From the 08th until the 12th of July 2024, the Sino-German Legal Cooperation Programme conducted a training course on judicial methodology in civil law for the National Judges College in Beijing. 37 high-qualified young judges from all over the country and 2 colleges of the National Judges College, designated for a master or PhD programme at the City University of Hongkong and at the University of Macau, participated and were introduced to the German methodology on the application of law. Under the guidance of Mr. Norbert Feige, legal advisor for the Sino-German Legal Cooperation Programme, the participants practiced the application of the techniques on practical cases under Chinese civil law.
In cooperation with the National Judges College, the Sino-German Legal Cooperation Programme organizes several courses on judicial methodology a year. The aim of these courses is to promote a consistent and clear application of the law by the judiciary, thereby improving the efficiency of Chinese courts and, above all, legal certainty for citizens and the rule of law in decisions.
